Hello!

Boat Manor Echo Winter's Song. Winter Rose Fairy Is warning the Birds a Winter Storm is Coming

I’m Nicole Anne and I illustrate (and write) illustrative picture books and artwork

Westcoast Flora and Fauna began as a dream in my family’s suburban back yard, of west coast Canada. 2018 came with a career ending autoimmune diagnosis; getting a late neurodivergent diagnosis of ADHD; as well as realizing I also had two small undiagnosed neurodivergent children – I had to leave my career in pediatric/nicu nursing and was in dire need of a healthy outlet for my mind now as a person with invisible disabilities (a spoonie). I returned back to an old love of illustrating and writing to escape the pain and life changes/challenges to cope. Illustrating and writing became an outlet for me to heal. With knowledge learned from numerous family members with a background in fine arts who have inspired and guided me and a need for artistic escape, I combine a passion for nature with an artistic eye. I love creating imaginative botanical and wildlife illustrations that capture the whimsy of fairy tails and comic style and the essence of Canada’s diverse ecosystems. I am self-taught illustrator who takes industry courses and local workshops and am a member of CANSCAIP and SCWBI.

Nicole’s mission is to bring the beauty of flora and fauna to life through whimsical artwork and engaging, funny stories which have a strong message of caring for the environment, told through social emotional learning and empathy.

A history in paediatric and NICU nursing, Nicole has a goal to make Westcoast Flora and Fauna products accessible to educators, nature enthusiasts, and art collectors alike. Whether you’re seeking wildlife art prints, cards, individual comic style illustrations, professional illustration services in Canada, or hiring an illustrator for your next picture or middle grade book, Nicole’s commitment remains the same: to celebrate the intricate and whimsical details of nature’s design.

Join Nicole as she explores the interplay between art, nature and imagination.
